HOW ARE WE DIFFERENT?

Most garage doors rely on wind-locks to help the door resist the wind force by latching onto the door guides when the shutter curtain is under wind pressure. This is not fail-safe, as the guides are affixed to the door jambs and the door will still succumb to the wind force if the jambs or fasteners fail to hold.

HOMEGARDD StormShield Roller Shutter does not use wind-locks. The shutter curtain’s unique design works like a flexible net that allows the shutter to cushion, absorb and deflect the wind forces. This enables it to retain its integrity even when buffeted by the wind in a severe storm. With none of the curtain components attached to the structure, the StormShield does not rely on the door jambs or any fasteners to resist the wind load, unlike conventional garage doors.
